Privacy and anonymity
The Mudi V2 is built for those who need maximum privacy. WireGuard and OpenVPN run directly at the router level — all traffic from every connected device passes through an encrypted tunnel without the need to install a VPN client on each device individually. VPN speed reaches up to 40 Mbps for WireGuard and up to 5 Mbps for OpenVPN. We recommend the GemiGuard VPN service for maximum compatibility and performance.
The Mudi V2 is fully compatible with GemiGuard Mirage — our software for IMEI randomisation, log wiping and removal of network activity traces. Mirage significantly increases the anonymity of your mobile connection and turns the Mudi V2 into one of the most private portable routers on the market.
It also supports Tor for anonymous browsing and DNS over TLS (Cloudflare) to protect DNS queries from interception.
Self-contained internet during blackouts
The Mudi V2 is a fully self-contained device: built-in battery, built-in 4G modem, built-in Wi-Fi. During a power outage you need neither a power bank, nor a USB modem, nor an external router — just insert a SIM card and switch the Mudi on. Up to 8 hours of secure internet on a single charge. Charging via USB Type-C (5V/2A) from any power bank, laptop or car adapter.
For those looking purely for a blackout solution at a lower price, we recommend taking a look at the GL.iNet Opal GL-SFT1200 paired with a USB modem and a power bank.
Cellular connectivity and carriers
The built-in Quectel EM060K-GL modem supports 4G LTE Cat 6 (up to 300 Mbps download) with a wide range of international bands, including all the frequencies used by Ukrainian carriers. It works with Kyivstar, lifecell and Vodafone — we recommend Kyivstar, as speeds are usually the best. The SIM card is Nano-SIM format. A physical eIoTClub eSIM card is also supported for easy switching between carriers and countries (sold separately).
Flexible connection options
The Mudi V2 supports several ways to access the internet: 4G LTE cellular via Nano-SIM; Ethernet through a USB-C dongle (included) — for wired connectivity in the office; Wi-Fi Repeater (WISP) — to extend coverage of an existing network; USB tethering — to use a smartphone as a modem. The Multi-WAN feature supports automatic failover and load balancing across several channels simultaneously.
OLED display and control
The 0.96-inch OLED display shows network status, signal strength, battery level and VPN status without needing to log into the web panel. Detailed control is available through the web interface or the GL.iNet app — firmware updates, client monitoring, firewall configuration. The microSD slot (up to 1 TB) lets you use the router as a network file storage device.
OpenWrt and advanced capabilities
The OpenWrt operating system gives you full control over settings and access to more than 2000 additional packages. AdGuard is supported for blocking ads and trackers across the entire network.
GemiGuard Mirage for the Mudi V2. On request, we install the full Mirage Pro version — IMEI randomisation via a physical switch, MAC and BSSID randomisation, DNS encryption, system log wiping, deletion of the history of connected Wi-Fi clients and removal of other network activity traces. A full device personalisation service is also available separately — configuring custom scripts and other parameters to suit your needs. More about Mirage →
