Opal’s strong performance at an affordable price comes from the integrated SiFlower SF19A28 chipset, which combines the processor and Wi-Fi radio modules on a single microchip. The result is stable WireGuard VPN throughput of up to 65 Mbps with no noticeable impact on everyday internet use.
Internet during a blackout
Opal draws just 2.8 W and is powered via standard USB Type-C. That means it runs reliably off any power bank. Connect a 4G LTE USB modem to the built-in USB 2.0 port — and you have full internet access with VPN protection even during a power outage, independent of your provider’s infrastructure.

Protect your entire network with a single device
WireGuard VPN runs at the router level — all traffic from every device on the network passes through the encrypted tunnel automatically. There is no need to install a VPN client on each phone, laptop or TV separately.
Connectivity and operating modes
Opal is equipped with three gigabit Ethernet ports (1 WAN + 2 LAN), a USB 2.0 port for USB modems, and supports Wi-Fi to the IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standard with a combined speed of up to 1200 Mbps. The router works in several modes: classic router, access point (AP), wireless or wired bridge — letting you flexibly integrate it into any existing network.
OpenWrt, Cloudflare DNS and OpenVPN
The OpenWrt operating system gives you full control over settings, updates and additional packages. It also supports Cloudflare DNS over TLS to protect DNS queries from interception, and the OpenVPN protocol as an alternative to WireGuard.
